Keep Returning
Is the Bible relevant?
Well it depends. It's the most honest book in the world, showing people at their best and their worst. And it's the most revealing commentary on human nature you'll ever find. For instance, take King David; very impressive story. He begins as the youngest of Jessie's boys, who is assigned the most menial task in the family, taking care of sheep.
Out of those humble circumstances, God raises a man that will shepherd the children of Israel through very tumultuous times from guarding and comforting sheep. David learns how to protect, how to lead, and how to rescue the lost. A sheepfold becomes his classroom.
But David is not perfect. While he becomes a mighty warrior, he faces countless challenges in his personal relationships at home. You just don't hear much bragging about David as a father.
But what is so good about David? Here it is. He is a man after God's own heart. He keeps coming back to God, and so should we.
