Love God. Love others. I suppose you can’t be much more simple than that. I know Jesus was repeating and embellishing on the commands given to the Jews in the Old Testament when He gave the greatest (foremost) command (as He called it in Mark 12). The idea is that is the starting place for devotion to God and, if conducted properly, the launching point for keeping a relationship with God rich and vibrant. It’s a good theme for 2024. It’s a good theme for our lives.
