Family Talk

It is a wonderful time of the year. The holiday seasons begin in full force after Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving (the holiday) is just around the corner, isn’t it? Our response to blessings should be ‘gratitude,’ and that is our theme for the month. I trust that you will be involved as we look at passages in the Bible dealing with gratitude. Our theme for this year, “I Care!” was meant to be descriptive yet prescriptive. If we don’t care, we should. If we do care, we should express it in ways that may be unique to us. Not everyone is outwardly expressive. We should not force our personality on others. But everyone can be caring by being understanding, compassionate, honest and helpful. These intentional moments of concern may indeed be misinterpreted, but I would hope that a spirit of love would cover our missteps and allow us to grow closer to the Lord—which will result in our being closer to one another. God is so good.
