Our Elders appreciation Luncheon was a tremendous success and enjoyable occasion! It was a time to recognize and share our appreciation for those who lead us and remember that we have a responsibility to ‘give honor to whom honor is due.’

What a privilege to worship. We are gifted with the proper mind to develop our thoughts, the proper avenues through which we might express these in the form of words, through which we praise our Lord, plead to Him for our continuing needs, and pledge our undying devotion to the cause that binds us together.

There is plenty of news around our congregation. Perhaps the brightest news for us is that JP Wamble has agreed to work with us as our new youth minister and is scheduled to begin his work with us in early June.

We have a great month planned for us to work, study, pray and worship together. I know you have your daily activities that allow you to ‘touch the lives’ of friends and neighbors. We also have the privilege of doing some work together as a congregation. These frequently involve working with other congregations in united efforts.

We are blessed at Germantown in many, many ways. Oh, I know the physical facility is a blessing, but far greater is our relationship together in the Lord. Thank you, Lord! There are many upcoming dates that you’ll need to mark down on your calendar. You won’t want to miss a single one!

It is so good to be able to worship God together! We have had good opportunities to be together. Already this year, we have experienced baptisms, recommitments in life, those identifying as part of the church family here - and a full morning where we have heard of the plans for 2024.

We are now into February and what a privilege it is to be serving together as we work at Germantown! So many questions come to mind. What does God have in store for us as we work and worship together? How are we going to ‘pitch in’ with others as we look at our combined work together as introduced by our elders at the Elder’s Breakfast?
