We are connected, aren't we?
Radio, television, telephone, email, text. The list just goes on and on. We are so connected. We have a new fear and anxiety that we're living with: It's called “the fear of missing out.” We don't want to miss out on what our friends are doing, what other people are doing, even the people we don't like.
So we can't get away from our phone or our computer or our worry. Many are addicted. They just can't put it down. People that study this problem call it an anxiety about the future and a desire for control. Fortunately, the Bible is helpful here.
It tells us, first of all, that only God knows the future for sure.
And second, God is the only one who is ultimately really in control.
We do control whether we listen to Him and whether we will trust Him. So there you have it. Serve God and leave the anxiety and obsession behind.
