What a great time of the year! I think of it as ‘Tween Time’ - the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many are already in a festive mood because we’ve had the chance to be with (some) family and catch up on the affairs of each person. We’ve been reminded of how much we are loved by our own family and the family of God.

Thanksgiving is the best! It’s a great time for families to visit—and we had families visiting both here and far. We continue to pray for their safety as they travel back home. Our most recent Shared Blessings could not have been better!

Thanksgiving is here! Finally. I say that because it is now acceptable to focus on the positive, and for most of us, we have heard so many negative things about our world that it has been difficult to see the good. But we are indeed blessed and this holiday is an outstanding way to carry on the process to each succeeding generation.

It’s a great time of year. The changing leaves remind us of God’s power over the seasons and that He is still in charge. We have two specific works that need to be emphasized this time of year. Shared Blessings is a program that was started many years ago to help families in the Memphis area by providing a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving.

It is a wonderful time of the year. The holiday seasons begin in full force after Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving (the holiday) is just around the corner, isn’t it? Our response to blessings should be ‘gratitude,’ and that is our theme for the month. I trust that you will be involved as we look at passages in the Bible dealing with gratitude.
