Is the Bible relevant? Well, let's think about it…

Want some advice? Advice is cheap. That's what it may be worth, but I think this is different. One popular author recently advised: Seek out a man ten years older than you and ask, “What should I know about the next decade of my life?”

We are connected, aren't we? Radio, television, telephone, email, text. The list just goes on and on. We are so connected. We have a new fear and anxiety that we're living with: It's called “the fear of missing out.”

What did we do before the Internet? Well, we probably talked with each other more often; genuine conversations where we wrestled with our thoughts and actually received an honest, well-thought out, unhurried response from friends that was kind, caring and considerate.

Okay, here's a question (and be honest): What were you just now thinking about? Something that happened in the past, or something that's going to happen in the future? Or as one man said, “Are you a person of nostalgia or a person of promise?”

Was Jesus ever lonely? That sounds like an odd question. Could it be true?

A young man was listening to the speaker at his high school graduation. The speaker told of a lady one day bringing a cake by the church building where he was a minister. She wanted the minister and his family to have it. He thanked her and she left.

“Hey, you want to know what your problem is?” When someone says that to you, you'd better sit down and buckle in because you are about to get the most ill-prepared, least factual and most emotional presentation you will ever receive.
